My ipod video just froze up!?
I was turning up the volume when a new song came on, and all of a sudden, it wouldnt do anything! I tried to turn it off, and once again, it wouldnt do anything. Whats the deal, and how do I fix it?

Im having the same issue, but a quick fix is to close down installous by pressing home twice, then hold any appuntil a appears then press that symbol on installous. This will close it down, so now re open installous. Remember, this might work for a little while

it just has a blank screen but its turned on and i hit all the buttons and pluged it into my computer but it wont work!!
Perhaps the battery went really really flat and it will just take mins charging or something before it will come to life. Its unclear how long you have charged it for but I would give it a while and see if that does anything. If not it might need to go back to the shop. Good luck!

This worked when a similar thing happened to mine. brbrSwitch hold on for seconds then switch it off. Then hold the menu and the circle button down at the same time for up to seconds. This is a signal to the ipod to restart. If this doesnt work then it really is broken and you need to ring apple. XX

My iPod only plays out of the left speaker. If I pull the plug out a little it will play on both, but will only play the left headphones noise so on some songs it ruins it. I think it I messed up the hole you plug the headphones into.
I promise, you didnt break your iPod. Your headphones sound like theyre shot though. Youll notice that if you play with the main wire where it meets the thicker rubber at the base, youll hear static and music will pop up every once in a while in the broken earphone. brbrHeadphone wires are notoriously weak, and dont last that long. I have to get a new set every four months or so. brbrIf you want to make sure its your head phones before you go out and buy another pair, borrow a friends for a moment and try them in your iPod. Chances are, youll hear everything just fine.brbrOn the off chance it IS your iPod, you can take it up with Apple if your warranty is still good.brbrGood luck!brbrbrEDIT brI read your addition. I dug up my old iPod mini so my mum can listen to some music on it. Before I can remember it used to freeze the whole time, and I think thats the reason I put away. Now its plugged into a different computer than the one it originally loaded music from. Its said do not disconnect and itunes asked me if I wanted to erase and sync, which I did. What are some good tips for if it freezes? and can I take it to a mac shop and ask them to defreeze it if they can do that, can they? MIDDLE AND BOTTOM HOLD DOWN FOR SECONDS... THE trick is to hold the buttons down for seconds. OTHERWISE wait till it drains IF you cant in the short term. That way you can sort your prob out.

Hold down both the menu button and the middle circle button untill the ipod restarts. That is how to restart the ipod when frozen.brbrAlways does the trick for me, if that doesnt work, you may want to contact apple.

My Ipod is Dead. Please help?!?
My Ipod has been giving me real trouble ever sice I bought it. And the other day I dropped it on to concrete Whoops and now the hard drive just makes a horrible grinding noise and thes screen shows a sad ipod face.
The iPOD does suffer from this the design technology seems to have ignored the fact that the builtin Hard Drive is very sensitive to knocks and falls. To me this is real deception since the device is marketed as a quottake anywhere and withstand anythingquot type of entertainment device. brbrI know its too late for yours, but as a minimum, I would recommend a belt strap and a tough rubber casing for your iPOD.
MY IPOD IS BREAKING HELP!?
Its was in the washer and it looks the same... but I put it on the charger and it still turns on but it flashes black and white and it looked like water got in it!... HELP FAST!
I know that with cell phones you can put them in a bowl of rice for hours and it takes the water out. Not sure if it would work with an ipod though. But you could always try.

You dont have to take to a store!!! There are quotsecretquot button combinations which will sort out quotconfused or frozenquot iPods by forcing a reset. So as long as its not physically damaged you can recover it. Only if theyre in your iTunes library, just plug your iPod in, and click Sync Music, and KaBLAM! But other than that, no theres no way, when it formats, it ERASES the WHOLE drive, and reinstalls the iPod software.brHope this helps

My GB nano shows the lock icon no matter how many times I toggle the hold switch on and off and press the MenuSelect buttons. Ive recharged and restored it any number of times with no luck. Computer recognizes it when I plug it in but once I unplug it, none of the buttons work. When its plugged in and fully updated, it shows the languages menu. Ill be eternally grateful to anyone who can offer any assistance!

I got my ipod stolen during gym class today. it was my last class of the day and i noticed when i got on the bus and i couldnt do anything about it then. i called my gym teacher and school security and they said they will try their best, but i doubt they will help much. i have the serial number for the ipod, if that will help. i am going to file a police report. will that help? are there any other ways i can get it back? oh, and i take my ipod to school becuase i have an hour and min. bus ride to and from school, so i have a reason to take it. also, i am pretty sure i know who took it...how do you think i can confront them about it? thank you!
File the police report and see what happens. If you have a hunch, and you dont like the person, then go ahead and accuse them. Whats the worst that could happen? If it is someone you dont want to get into a fight with, then reconsider your friendship and give the police a quottipquot.

alright you need to restart it. It is very simple first you have to hold the middle button and the top button at the same time. Then when the apple pops up wait a few seconds and it should work again.

IDK WAT HAPPENED! i synced music onto it...it turned it on...i hit shuffle music....BAM! it froze...nothing. cant do anything on it. the screen is lit and it wont turn off...but other than that....nothing.
I have the same problem all the time. The ipod nanos nd generation decide to randomly freeze some glitch that Apple needs to fix. I sent my to Apple and they said nothing was wrong... so dont do that. All you have to do is reset the ipod by holding down the middle and top button until the ipod turns off and restarts... this will not erase your music or anything. If this does not work you have to let the ipods battery run down and then charge it and the problem is fixed.

This just happened to me. I had to hold down the Centre and Menu button down for about seconds, after this the Apple sign will appear. If this wasnt the case try looking at this tutorial to help you sort it out. It help me a load. Hope this helped

All you do it burn down the battery..then obviously it will turn offby itself...make sure its on hold...then plug in the charger and take it off of hold..then when it charges.....simply enjoy......

Ok so I sropped my Ipod in a small fill bowl, it was in for less than two seconds. Right now, its working fine. I set it in rice overnight and stuff. Is there anythiing else I should do? the only issue is that i think there is water underneath the screen...i can see little spots.

My ipod earphones have broke, if i took them back to argos could i just get new ones replaced?
Or would they take my ipod away, or would nothing happen?
I sent mine directly back to apple and they sent me replacement ones within a few weeks.brbrNo they dont take your ipod away and yes it should be covered by warranty.brbrIt depends how obvious it was that it was your fault, like if you accidently crushed them then no, but if the wire came away from the plug or they simply stopped working then yes they should replace them.
